Export from Quixel Bridge works -> but doesn't open in Transmutr

I’m getting a message on Quixel Bridge that says the export to 24981 worked, but Transmutr doesn’t open anything on its end. The “open a model” screen just remains as it does when first opened.

Here’s a log snip from Quixel:
{“exportAs”:“default”,“imageFormat”:“image/jpeg”,“meshFormat”:"",“origin”:“megascans”,“resolution”:“2K”,“tool”:“custom_socket_export”,“type”:“surface”,“level”:“info”,“message”:“Export asset”,“timestamp”:“2022-01-03T16:00:03.097Z”}

Here’s the log from a freshly reinstalled Transmutr:

I checked my windows 11 Firewall and it’s set to allow transmutr.exe for both local and private networks.

Edit: I also did a netstat -aon to see what process is listening to 24981 and it is indeed transmutr.exe
TCP [::]:24981 [::]:0 LISTENING 3004

task manager:
transmutr.exe PID 3004 Running

I’m not able to reproduce the issue using the latest Bridge and Transmutr version.

Does it happen with every kind of object?
Can you try the asset “shopk” (free rock asset)?

Hi Thomas,

Good idea: I tried a free item and it worked instantly. Even though I’ve got a bunch of ‘purchased’ items in Bridge, they don’t want to transfer, while the free item did!

It looks like I’ll have to figure out what’s going on with that installation…

Follow-up: I’ve been trying to transmute surfaces (textures), not just 3d models. That’s where something is being sent but not received…

Is this something transmutr is not designed to do… because then I’m wasting both our time putting a square peg in a round hole.

Oh yes indeed! Transmutr only supports 3D models for now, but we have plans to support single materials in a future update.

Heh! That resolves that problem then. I’ll look forward to that increased functionality for sure. As usual, thanks for the quick responses.
Cheers,
Brett.
