This looks like an encoding error (maybe related to your computer’s language?).
Please send us the file that you’re trying to import and we’ll investigate.

@Kyon The error was due to Skatter not fully supporting filenames with non-latin characters, as was the case with the thumbnail.
The bug has been fixed so exports will work better in the next update (2.1.1).
You’ll need to export your file again though (the current one is corrupted).
