I’m trying to activate Skatter at work, but it just hangs.
I suspect that the activation may be blocked by our corporate firewall & network security.
Is there another option available?
Can you open the ruby console (Window > Ruby Console), and see if anything appears in it while you try to activate?
Here we go:-

It does seem that the connection is blocked somehow.
You can ask IT to let this through the firewall : http://licensing.getskatter.com
Let me know if they can’t.
I’ll try to have another way to activate for the next version.
I’ve put a request through to our IT Section.
In the meantime, I’ve installed it at home, where it works no bother at all!
Our IT section say the licensing hyperlink isn’t blocked as such, but thinks the plugin may not be configured to connect to the internet through a proxy server.
I’m adding right now a way to activate offline.
In the meantime, can you open the Ruby Console (in the Window menu in Sketchup), paste this and hit enter :
ENV[“http_proxy”]
Then tell me if anything appears.
Thanks
Thomas,
The console spat out the following;-
ENV[“http_proxy”] Error: #<NameError: undefined local variable or method ` “http_proxy”' for main:Object> <main>:in `<main>' SketchUp:1:in `eval'
I see, for some reason the forum changes the " characters.
Can you retry by typing it, instead of copy/pasting?
Thanks
ENV[“http_proxy”]
Error: #<NameError: undefined local variable or method “http_proxy”' for main:Object> <main>:in
<main>‘
SketchUp:1:in `eval’
Did you try the new offline activation?
The new offline activation method in version 0.3.4 works fine, thanks!
Hello
I can not install “Skatter” while replacing my computer with a new one
(The old computer is “Windows 7” and the new computer is “windows 10”)
Please tell me how to install
Note that if your computer is a new computer and a computer at home
There are two units.
Thank you
