I’ve been testing the awesome meadow pack in Skatter, as it would be of great help in my next project, and to be honest after a while of having purchased Skatter, only now I am really testing it out for real.
But I’m having problems with the time it takes until it starts the render itself… if it starts at all. For example, in the file I attach to this post, it’s taking some hours just to start the render (all night). It is a very simple file meant to work as a test, with not much information on it !
The final file I will be working on, will be much bigger with a lot more information to process, so I’m afraid I won’t be able to accomplish successfully the work if this issue persists…
If anyone already had the same problem, or knows what I’m doing wrong, would really appreciate the input.
I’m using SU 2015, Vray 2.0 on a Macbook Pro I5 2.3 with 8Gb of RAM
Vray 2.0 is known to have very long parsing time. I suggest you try the Vray 3.4 beta.
I tested your file, and Vray 3.4 took only 15 seconds to parse it, instead of ages on Vray 2 (I canceled because it was too long).
Thank you very much Thomas, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to upgrade to the newest version of Vray as I bought it over a year ago, but I will give it a try !
I’ve tried the vray beta version, and it improved the speed dramatically - Thank you for pointing that out.
But I still have troubles with my model(s), when I scatter the objects from “meadow pack” the result is always very strange, even following the point by point tutorial available on-line… also, most of the times when I increase Skatters density it crashes SU.
It works nice If I render directly from the models (Image-01), but not from the scattered objects (Image-02).
