Here is something I created some time ago and I have forgotten how I did things. I have not used Skatter for a good while. I would like to create something like it again but am having problems remembering how to do things. I did look at some documentation, but I am consistently messing up. I can create the hills and etc. in SketchUp but when I try to add the vegetation (in particular I want to create just a straight line of bushes) and then add it to my terraine, I am making a pure mess.

Can someone give me a good place to go read (or watch a video) that will help me create a new model. I am not worried about rendering the model. I used to use Twilight Render and now I am looking at Rayscaper but I do think that is supported in Skatter. Again, right now I need some good advice on how to get some things done.

Well, I think I am getting closer but am still having a problem. I you look at the screen capture below, how do I get the row of bushes “projected” to the terrain below the row of bushes?

I am still having problems with this issue. I have created a set of objects using Skatter that I want to project down to the terraine but have not been able to get it to work. I have done it sometime in the past but cannot get it to work again. I would like to get some advice on how to accomplish it.

What part of the process do you struggle with?
Is it projecting the curve onto the terrain? Or using the curve as a Host in Skatter?

Well, it has been over 6 months since I did anything with SketchUp and Skatter. I am wanting to get back to things. I have tried to open the SketchUp files that I used to create the original post but am not getting anywhere. I can view the objects but cannot regenerate the models like in the original post.

One of the first things I have forgotten is how to render the model. I also want to use Rayscaper as my rendering tool and do not know if you even support it. When I try to view all of the stuff in the original model I can only do it in the model and cannot render anything.

I would like for someone to point in direction where I can go back and “learn again”, in particular how to get things to “render” again.

Regarding Rayscaper, I don’t think it supports Skatter’s “Render-only” mode. In that case you indeed need to generate in the model.

Thanks for the reply. This is what I thought and what I had “kind of” figured out. I wish Lindale would reach out to Rayscaper and get them to support/work with Skatter. Their render software seems pretty powerful and affordable :grinning_face:

I used to use Twilight Render but they have gone out of business :unamused_face:.

You can actually request that feature from them and send them this page so they can implement it :blush:

Now a really dumb question: it has been a while but I need to know how to get to the Render List so I can set up RayScaper to work with Skatter. :enraged_face:

So far, I cannot get Rayscaper to work with Skatter…………….
