Hello, lindale support team

Missing icon or library thumbnails

Is there a way to fix it?
Or is there a way to find the cause of the problem?

Kind regards

Hi,

This looks like an issue with the image paths. It could be related to Japanese characters not handled correctly.
Can you please try on another computer and tell me if the same thing happens?

Thanks,
Thomas

Hello, Mr.Thomas

Thank you for your advice.

When I added another user (multibyte character user name) to Windowe10 and checked it, I found that it worked without problems.

It’s strange.

C:\Users\松竹梅 << No problem
C:\Users\yama << There is a problem

I have been supporting 3D software in Japan for almost 20 years and am well aware of the problem of multibyte characters. So I use single-byte characters for my Windows account. We do not use multibyte characters in folder names.

Where does skatter get the ICON and thumbnail paths? Is it the SketchUp registry?
Is it an environment variable?

Best wishes,

On second thoughts, it’s probably unrelated because the files are located in C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\SketchUp\Plugins
So the username shouldn’t have any effect.

Can you check if you see the icon files in C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2020\SketchUp\Plugins\jbb_skatter\html\img
And the Library thumbnails in C:\ProgramData\Skatter\Library\thumbnails

Thanks

I found a solution!

Skatter dialog windows are written in HTML and rendered by the internal browser engine (IE).
In some user environments, IE picture display may be disabled.

That is, launch IE and enable “Show pictures” from Settings. (Image below)

I usually use Firefox and Chrome mainly, and I rarely use IE, so I was late to notice.

I hope this will help.
